Last night, my Belly Dance instructor had a Hafla (a middle eastern dance party) to celebrate her 26th birthday. A bunch of the dancers from her class and the area got together and we had a great time. Here's the card I made her:
I liked how my Deck of Me card turned out using that photo, so I used it on her card, too.
Asyia also did a Fire Poi show for us. They are, very basically, a flaming ball on the end of a chain which she spins in different directions and patterns. She does two at at time. She also used another version (I think she called them Snakes) which is a flaming rope at the end of a chain. All these photos are with the second one. Her performance was awesome, and I got some really cool photos.
The last one is when she finished and walked over to put them out. I had my shutter open for 30 seconds...the streak to the left is her walking by. I've never had the opportunity to take photos of anything like this. I had such a great time, and I love how they turned out!

Deck of Me: Week Three
The prompt for Deck of Me this week was to come up with an "I Am" phrase about yourself. Here's my take:
I'm really enjoying this project. It's going to be a cool little album.
ETA: Since a few people have been asking, I got the digital frames from 2Peas, HERE.

I'm a winner!
Remember the kit site, zingBOOM, where I received Honorable Mention for the Design Team search? Well, I participated in the first site challenge, and I was picked as one of the winners! The challenge was to create a layout using a vintage record cover. I just happened to have about a dozen because I had bought them with the intent of doing some kind of craft. I used an old Swan Lake album:
You can see the challenge page HERE. This was a really fun challenge! I can't wait to see what else Kristen comes up with. In the mean while, I can look forward to some fun goodies in the mail!

New Stuff.
I've been participating the 'Deck of Me' art journal on Emily Falconbridge's blog. I never really do anything about me, so I thought this would be fun. I used an extra card to make a cover, then each week I decorate the front, and put the prompt and date on the back. This is what I have so far:
Rather than making a case as she suggested, I put all mine on a metal ring. Week 1 was "Something I'm pround of" and week 2 was "Something powerful to me". I'm still waiting for her to post this week's prompt.
I went to the monthly crop with my scrap group yesterday. These are the layouts I did:
Everything but the Heidi Swapp rub-ons and alphas are from the January Poppy Ink kit. Awesome kit this month!

Just a couple things to share.
Just a quick post to share a couple things. This is a Get Well card I made for a friend (I LOVE those American Crafts mini-marks rub-ons).
And this photo of Pickle, quite possibly the cutest squishy face puppy on the planet.
By the way, Marley is doing great. Her stitches come out Wednesday! Happy Sunday!
