MM Idol Update and My Layout

We all got an email this morning from Gail at Making Memories letting us know that they are still having problems, and have disabled the gallery and voting until they can make sure everything is right. They're not sure of an exact time or date, but she did say hopefully soon! Making Memories has been totally cool to us through this whole thing. The good news is that all of us 50 ladies have been having a great time emailing back and forth, and getting to know each other.

EDIT: We just got word that all the changes have been made, and everything is fixed. They are going to hold off and open voting again on Monday, March 5 at 9am MST (8am Pacific, 10am Central, 11am Eastern). Voting will close on Tuesday, March 6 at 4pm MST (3pm Pacific, 5pm Central, 6pm Eastern). They ARE going to clear all of the votes and start fresh, so even if you have already voted, you will need to vote again.

We have also been told that it is okay to post our challenge layouts on our blogs, so here's mine:

I have to say, I'm so glad I did this, because it forced me to do something about myself. It's my new favorite layout.

Deck of Me: Week 7

Finally did my Deck of Me Week 7. This week, Emily's prompt was to do a card about Shoes. So, I chose my favorite shoes, my pink Chucks! I have also developed an obsession with Around the Block Shrinkee Stickers. They are so fun.

Also, check out the super cute Melt Warmer I got for my scrap room. I ordered it at the Party Lite party I had a couple weeks ago. If you know Party Lite, I have the new Nectarini scent in there. It makes me happy. :)

Voting for MM Idol starts tomorrow at 9am MST. So, that's 8am Pacific, 10am Central, and 11am Eastern (where I am!). It goes through sometime on Tuesday. I think they said voting will be open a total of 31 hours or something like that. I finished my project about 9pm last night. I planned ALOT for that page, but it was worth it.

Chad and I are taking it easy today after doing a 6 mile MS Walk followed by a fun day of boating yesterday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!

Some MORE cool news!

Well, I've kinda known about this for a few days, but it was made official last night. Sara Berry is starting up a new kit club called Story of My Life, and she's ASKED me to be on her team! Wow, I was ASKED....I didn't have to try out and be chosen. That feels so great!

This kit is going to be super fun and funky. I can't divulge the details just yet, but it is right up my alley....so if you like the same kind of stuff I do, then you won't be disappointed. She's posted the add on stamps on her blog.

I'm especially excited about this one:

...mainly because I think I have something in mind for it. You can see the other add-on stamps on THIS post on Sara's blog.

I can't even tell you how excited I am about this. Man, when it rains, it pours, right?! Thank you, Sara!

Holy. Crap.

I was just innocently responding to some emails a few minutes ago when an Email from Jenny Weston at Making Memories popped up. The subject was MM Idol. I didn't get my hopes up....I figured it was just a newsletter with the list of 50 finalists.....but no. It was a CONGRATULATIONS LETTER! I was chosen as one of the 50 for the Making Memories Idol Contest! Pretty good for a girl who's never been published or been on a full design team, eh?!

This is one of the layouts I submitted- the one they have up next to my name in the gallery. This makes me extra happy, because it also happens to be one of my favorite layouts of all time!

So, now I have to do an 'All About Me' layout by Midnight on Sunday, and then they will have public voting to see who goes to the next round. Wish me luck, and don't forget to vote! *wink, wink* Heehee.

New Deck of Me card and layouts.

I'm a little behind on the Deck of Me cards. I got week 6 done this weekend, and am going to work on week 7 (the current one) today. I've already taken the picture for it!

I went to the monthly crop with my scrap group this weekend. It seems like that's the only time I get the change to get actual layouts done anymore! I also did my Deck of Me week 6 prompt: Love, Love, Love! I used a picture of my Grandma from her recent visit.

The two layouts I did are from the February zingBOOM kit, Toy Box. I had alot of fun with it!

For next month, I chose the "A Sorta Fairytale" kit. It's going to have some Basic Grey Perhaps and cool vintage rhinestone buttons. If you know me, you know I love me some rhinestones.

So, coming soon will be my week 7 Deck of Me and hopefully some layouts from the February Poppy Ink kit! I just have to say, the Around the Block paper tagger is SO awesome. I also FINALLY got the Look Book from Autumn Leaves this weekend. I'm looking forward to sitting down with that, too. Have a great day!

Deck of Me: Weeks 4 and 5

Here are my cards for weeks 4 and 5 of Emily Falconridge's Deck of Me challenge. I finally got around to doing week 4 on this past Sunday when week 5 was posted. Week 4's prompt was "A symbol you love". I chose the exclaimation point because I use it all the time, and it kinda stands for excitement and happiness to me. Week 5's prompt was "Use some ephemera from your week". I had a Party Lite candle party (which went GREAT, by the way, and I got lots of free stuff!) on Saturday, so I used a picture from the catalog and consultant's business card.

In other news, Kristen at zingBOOM emailed us Honorable Mention girls to let us know that she has created a sort of mini Design Team for us if we were interested. It's called the zingBOOM Street Team. Basically, we'll get split into 3 groups and be sent a package of zingBOOM goodies 4 times a year. In exchange for the free goodies, we make cool stuff and post it on our blogs and 2Peas galleries. I'm pretty excited about it. The kits are funky and fun, so get over there and buy one! Hehee.

Crochet Flowers

I've gotten some crochet flowers (that I love and had been hoarding!) in a couple of my Poppy Ink kits. My Mom and Grandma have been visiting the past few days, and my Mom's a wiz with a crocheting needle. She was so sweet to make me lots of super cute crochet flowers, and she's going to make even more to send to me! They are way cool, and about 3". I can't wait to use them! Thank you, Momma!

The frame is by Katie Pertiet, and can be found HERE at Designer Digitals.
